Googling on this, one can find many suggestions on how to fix this issue, but most of them just recommend to make sure no dust is in the Laptop or suggest to not put too much load on the Mac. The issue may be even worse when working with an external display – most people obviously use external displays in their home offices. Don’t get me wrong, MS Teams is a good software, but I desparately searched for methods to get my fan noise under better control. As tools like ZOOM or Webex do not have such an issue, it can be concluded that this issue is caused by the MS Teams software.

Users of Microsoft Windows have also reported that the load on their systems sometimes go up as well when they are in a MS Teams meeting. Many people have reported this several times to Apple and Microsoft but the issue has not been fixed yet. However, what annoyed me with my Laptop were MS Teams meetings when the fan noise went up considerably. We have collegues using Laptops with Windows, some use Laptops with Linux and a considerable amout of people use MacBooks. I’m thankful to be able to choose the Hardware and OS of my business laptop at dbi services. The layout of the UI and the location of buttons/options were different to the version I saw as a guest.The Laptop I’m using for the business is a MacBook Pro, model 2019 (2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7). Once this had been done, and I could use my regular email for my Teams account, I was … tada! … shown the chat option. I asked my IT department to use our company's custom domain for our MS accounts (we use Google for our email and productivity suite, so this hadn't ever been done for MS). In this mode, no chat window is shown or seemingly available. This seems to have put me in guest mode or something similar. When I click an invite, I log in to Teams as my regular, non-MS company user (email address removed for privacy reasons). For example email address removed for privacy reasons Invites to Team meetings are, however, sent to my regular, non-ms email address. When I was using a Microsoft-supplied email address, registered via my company's IT department (for example, email address removed for privacy reasons) the chat option wasn't showing. I guess the only solution is to ask those who provide me with work to use Zoom, where I have never had any issues not sure this will work for you or anyone here, but I solved it this way…

What is also strange is that I used to click on the "already have Teams", it worked, AND I had a chat box for over a year and a half! (and yes, everything on my Mac is up to date)

Nothing fixes the problems.Īpple tells me that there are many issues with Teams for Mac users, and they have yet to be fixed. It takes about an hour to explain the issues, and they seem to know less than I do. I can live with that, but I cannot work without a chat box. I click on links to join meetings only as a visitor (I do not pay for the app, the other party does).Īlso, each and every time I try to join a meeting now, the option to click on "already have Teams.?" does not respond, so I have to re-install it each and every meeting. Uninstall, clear cache, reinstall, nothing has worked. I have been trying to fix this issue for months.
